We tend to give ourselves permission to want change when something is clearly broken.
Terrible job? Change makes sense.
Unhappy relationship? Understandable.
Major crisis? Nobody questions why you're rethinking things.
But what if your life is genuinely okay?
What if you're grateful for it?
What if you worked very hard to build exactly this life?
Then wanting something more can feel dangerously close to being ungrateful.
But those two things can exist at the same time.
You can love what you have and still be curious about what else might be possible.
You can appreciate the person you've become and realize she's still becoming.
You can be happy and still want more.
There is no gratitude police coming to confiscate your membership card.
